A Rap Entitled "A Unity" for LGBT Rights by Alex Koo
Hook:
Hey everybody why don't you listen to my rhyme
No, I don't need your dime man, I just need your time.
The rights of the LGBT that need to be addressed
For thousands and millions everywhere feel stressed
I hope my voice doesn't fall on deaf ears,
And I'm going to sing it loud so everybody hears
This earth was made as one large community
Society needs to see that we are a unity
I've seen and heard people taking their own lives
Not being accepted no matter how hard they try
How sad and harsh our lives are today
That people are unwelcome just because they're gay
We need to learn to love and accept
'Stead of being bigoted and just reject
Its not that hard to embrace one another
When all you have to do is just see them like a brother
And yet people like to see them as another kind
With different moral values, hearts, souls, and minds
And some even see it as an outrageous crime
To even think these thoughts as reason or rhyme
Well I'm hear to tell you that none of this is true
That you can live your life just by being you
You can love what you love and like what you like
It doesn't really matter if you're Mary or Mike
Hook
There are many who think this ain't their battle
Or following the herd like sheep or cattle
Without realizing that they can help
Rather than just searching for restaurants on Yelp
I've seen people on facebook and twitter
Sharing news of unequal rights making them bitter
Yet when they see unequal treatment on the streets
They turn a blind eye, saying, "gotta go to a meet and greet"
We need to stop the blatant ignorance
For ignorance can sprout the seeds to violence
If we do this, then tomorrow is bright
For the LGBT can finally get their rights
One final crucial message before I go
This is for the LGBT ladies and bros
You really need to know that the future is ahead of you
And then many are beside you, helping you through
